I did plan to write this post Sunday night…..but family life took over and consequently it is now Tuesday!!! Not to worry……i hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break surrounded by love and laughter!
We had a very busy week leading up to Easter and i thought i would share some of the adventures we enjoyed!
The sewing machine was busy again as i finally finished some winter shirts/pyjama tops……..
I had to modify a few patterns to get to what i wanted for the toddler twosome and for some reason getting the ribbing right took forever! Thank goodness for the support of the sewers at the Down to Earth Community Forum! So very helpful…thank you if you are reading!!
The forum is a wonderful support network bursting with information, inspiration and support…i encourage you to pop along for a visit if you have the time! So happy to have finally used up this material which i have had lying around for years!
I also finished sewing some cord pants for the girls…..i always modify my pattern a little to accommodate those cloth bottoms!
They are great for outdoor play and busy little toddlers!
We enjoyed some gluing and Easter collage fun…..
Although i think we actually enjoyed collecting the flowers more!
Explored blue paint in the sunshine….
And marvelled at the blue skies we received for a few days in a row!
There was raking to be done to help Daddy…..
And chasey games to the back fence…lots of gross motor fun this week!
Oranges growing over the back fence to pick……
And shaving foam fun with Miss Teen joining in…..you are never too old to get messy…you just have to look cool doing it!
We then said goodbye to Miss Teen for a few weeks as she flew off to visit her Dad …i really don't like school holidays for this reason…..and how do they grow older so quickly??
Ruby had fun revisiting our recycled jars and pom pom, pasta activity….
And we made lots of mess with different DIY sponges outside!
Ruby began clapping and waving bye which was a huge milestone for us!!!
Miss Teen made some Easter treats to share with the family before she left……
We had a little trouble with the crosses but they still tasted great!
A slight incident with the pens…..
Eggs were collected in our special basket….
And help for Daddy to cover the bananas while they ripen….
No wonder we were all a bit tired at the end of the week! The end of daylight saving and adjusting our routine has proven a little challenging too but we are hoping for a slower pace this week!
What was your favourite activity over the past week?

I love love love the pen on the face! Jett constantly has marker, paint or food on his face no matter how many times I clean him. The blue paint activity is really neat. Looks like you had a great week!

I’m so glad i’m not the only one with a child constantly sporting pen or paint on the face….sometimes i forget what she looks like until i start noticing the stares at shopping!!Thanks so much for stopping by Allison x

Wow Jode, your weekend looks fantastic. You managed to do so much and the kids looked like they had a ball! The easter egg slice looks yummy, is the recipe from BHG? I have loved looking through your blog and am so glad I stopped by. xx

Wow you look to have so much fun. Very very jealous of the amazing fruit that you have there as well and cute clothes for the kids (I’m working on pillow case dresses, peasant tops and a cord dress for next winter for my little girl at the moment).
Thank you for sharing with Tuesday Tots

Your sewing projects sound great Cerys…i keep meaning to try the pillowcase dress pattern! We have been waiting on bananas for the last 18 months and for some reason 4 bunches just popped out all at once….we will be freezing a lot of bananas soon i think!

Looks like a busy week. I love those cord pants – just gorgeous. It feels odd to be in April and with no thought to dressing Ginger for the winter ahead – we just plug on in summer clothing:)
Jode says
I love cord pants…we spend so much time outdoors and getting messy it’s not much point making too many dresses lol! I can imagine it is still pretty warm up your way…we have only just started getting a chill in the air which made me realise they had outgrown most of their warm clothes!

You’ve been going crazy with those gorgeous girls, I love how fantastically messy they get!
Jode says
Hi Kirsty…i’ve worked out that if they are messy they are happy and not clingy at moment lol!!
