Unfortunately another sodden week here…but it did make us appreciate the few days of blue skies and sun that we saw!! I really can understand how the grey skies and continual rain can affect mood…to wake up and see sunshine really lifts everyone's spirits at the moment., you can feel your body taking on new energy…hopefully the worst has passed and the cold winds have moved on for good!!
Another busy week of play and work although unfortunately not much of either getting done outside! I'd love to share some glimpses of our week with you…..
Sweeping had to be done in the kitchen…Tara does love a tidy kitchen and often has me doing jobs i was putting off somehow!
The aftermath of some play with coloured shredded paper…goodness that stuff sticks to everything…but it kept them busy!!
Some playdough cupcake making….
Some fine motor fun with recycled herb jars and sticks….you can read more about this activity HERE
Some pattern making and sewing of jumpers for the toddler twosome…you can read more about how I drew up the pattern for these jumpers HERE
A visit from our friendly parrots…the love the basil flowers at the moment….
A rare glimpse of sun through the trees….
Fun discovering the wet grass and mud outside…..
Berries to explore on the walk down to the house….
A very wet and muddy driveway which will need repairing when the rain eventually stops for awhile!
Last of the Winter seedlings sown……hopefully the rain will help and not hinder their growth!
The Balinese corn needed staking after the winds came through…not sure if it is too cold now to get a crop but it is looking lovely and healthy. We have never tried this variety before so would love to get some cobs to try!
The purple king beans are loving the weather at the moment and have covered their trellis!
A big pot of curried vegetable soup was made to warm us up for lunches during the week. Was so impressed that the majority of the vegies came from our garden…such a wonderful feeling to provide for the family! It doesn't look that appetising but trust me it tasted great!
Some fun hiding out on the verandah while the rain came out again…toddlers just love their secret spots!
Don't ask me how she even got into this spot as it is between two cabinets! She couldn't get back out but was having a wonderful time!
There were new toys to discover after a trip to the toy library! Helped to ease the boredom of all this play inside! Doesn't that smile just say it all?
Funny at first…..
And then Daddy had to intervene before a toddler war broke out about ownership….
The magnetic blocks are a big hit…couldn't catch them playing with them though!!
And some balancing blocks to add to our DIY boards for lots of gross motor fun indoors! You can read more about our DIY balance beams made from pallet timber and setting up our indoor obstacle course HERE….
And of course there is nothing better after a hard week of work and play than slipping into mummy's slippers and coming over for a cuddle!
Did you have a productive week? I hope you will join us this week as i share some toddler recipes and more thrifty fun ideas!
Warm Wishes….

Balinese corn sounds so exotic, I hope you get some. It looks so sodden there. Your blog title is very apt for this post, so much going on.
