The end of a busy Birthday and school holiday week and the start of a much calmer one ahead i hope!!!
It has been a week of reflection for me as my toddler twosome turned 2 and Miss Teen began to date! At times during the week i have felt old and uncertain of the future, wondering if i have the stamina and patience….and at other times i have felt overwhelming pride, joy and a new lease on life to be where i am today!
I think what i did reaffirm though this week is that i am a good Mum, i am doing my best, my 3 girls are healthy and happy and although not as comfortable or happy in my own skin yet as i would like to be…i am getting there and making progress….and i guess that's what is important for now!
I had fun looking over our photos from last week…..they reminded me that the simple moments are often the ones that go unnoticed at the time…but mean so much upon reflection!
I hope you enjoy this glimpse from our Week that Was!
There were Birthday Balloons to choose and cherish….
Special moments with Daddy as we read a new book…..
๏ปฟ
Little presents to explore……
and also arrange ‘just so' as only a toddler can!
There was of course the first experience of Birthday Cake…if you are interested in making a train cake yourself you might want to read this post……
There was the first taste of lollies…not to impressed i might add!
The sheer joy of running free outside with the sun shining and kookaburras singing!
A little joy for Mum as i watched older daughter draw along side her sister…both in their own little worlds!
Rock discoveries were made (Ruby discovers a new rock everyday!)…..
And makeshift crowns turned into favourites that rarely came off throughout the week…but did cause many fights and a few tantrums too!!
A little painting with water colours and sponges inside on a rainy day….not my best idea as Ruby likes to wander with paint but i was desperate as all going a little stir crazy!!!
A very easy activity….but i would save it for outside next time as i enjoy messy play a lot more out there (for obvious reasons!!!)
A little post about this activity later in the week!
Tara found some old painting aprons (which i think we have used exactly twice!) but had to try them on even though a little small now!
There was great fun to be had outside walking on the lines Daddy was painting!
And why was he painting lines? Because i keep begging for a start on our sandpit…and finally it is going to happen!!! Well a design is taking shape anyway….we are yet to break earth….but it is going to happen…i know it!!!
The toddler twosome got a little bored with Daddy's efforts at painting so went to try a little of their own!
Can't you just see a lovely big sandpit here surrounded by big bushrocks for climbing and tree stumps for sitting…..it's going to happen i tell you!!! See that sand shell…way too small now for twin sand play…not to mention a gum tree branch fell on it overnight and broke half the lid!
And on the weekend the girls enjoyed playing with a large box and some tubes that Daddy brought home from work!
What toddler doesn't love a box? It has already been many things such as a balloon and ball pit, colouring in station, area for cars, beds for dolls and probably soon it will become a stage when i tip it over! It has pride of place in the lounge at the moment!
Don't you just love the joy of watching kids play happily with the simplest of items?
Thanks for joining me on this journey and all your lovely comments and wishes for Ruby and Tara's Birthday…they meant a lot to me and reminded me how much i appreciate being part of this little blogging community!!

Forgive me, but I had to laugh at the second paragraph. Couldn’t the teen have waited a week to let mommy process the twins turning two before she decided to date?!?!?! ROFL I’m totally kidding….but wow that is a lot to process in a week!

Happy 2nd birthday to your two little sweeties!!! It has been a busy week for you I can only imagine how you would have needed to sit back and just take it all in. It looks like your two little ones had the best fun in that box, it is nice though to see how much they enjoy those simple ‘toys’ isn’t it. Love the sound of the sandpit too:) xx
