If you are looking for some simple and playful Easter activities for children then this post has just the inspiration you need. No complicated crafts here...whether you are 2 or 12!
As an educator I don't tend to program or plan themed activities for celebrations like Easter and Christmas as often the good intentions end up not only stressing educators as they try to 'fit' all of their planned experiences into a rigid theme but also put pressure on children to focus on the outcome rather than the process or creativity and play that we normally encourage.
However, I also believe in offering a balance between 'process and product' rather than one approach being 'bad' and one 'good' ...as long as the activities are fun for everyone what's not to love?!
If you're a bit unsure how to approach Easter craft and activities take a look at the ideas we have collected for you below. There is something for all approaches and ages and whether you are a parent or early childhood educator everyone can have fun with these experiences all year round...no need to just save them for Easter 😉

Explore Using The Senses With These Playful Easter Activities
If you have children who don't like to get their hands messy or sticky this is a fun activity they can join in with using a craft stick to keep paint and glitter away from hands.
We then used them as part of our Easter egg hunt and decorations as they can easily be pushed into gardens, pot plants etc.
Creativity Using Different Processes & Materials
Ditch the paintbrushes and consider using different materials and mediums with your Easter crafts - also a perfect opportunity to use up some of that paper and cardboard from the recycle bin like we did with these egg cartons turned into colourful Easter baskets and trays.
Older children love expressing themselves creatively too so provide the materials for them to experiment with.
