I love taking a peek into REAL LIFE educator environments! This year Empowered Educators have been kind enough to share their enviroments and educator spaces with us and we are excited to continue this series.
We have been highlighting some of the wonderful work that professional family day care educators do here in Australia and also overseas.
We take a peek into their home based early years environments, talk about why they love what they do and even share a few of the unique challenges that only this role offers.
Last month I put the spotlight on Lil Critta’s Family Day Care and this month I’m continuing to highlight some of the wonderful work that professional family day care educators do all around the world.
If you missed last month’s Educator Spotlight you can catch up HERE.
I’m excited to continue our family daycare areas series by putting the spotlight on Kirti from Rytham Family Day Care. Kirti is a member of our Empowered Educator Facebook Community with over 7 year of early childhood experience. She is also a recent Educator of the Year Winner in 2021. Congratulations Kirti!

Challenges & Benefits For Family Day Care Educators & Children
What is your biggest challenge working in this sector?
Working with mixed age groups.
What do you feel are the biggest benefits to children attending a family day care service like yours that the community and families might not be aware of?
Many of parents think that family day care services are not as professional as day care centres but I would advise that your child’ needs are being looked after really closely as the ratio of Educator to child is 1:4 and children get a home environment and close relationship with their Educator.
What made you decide to work in early childhood education?
I love to be around children. I love being around little ones and the trust and bond I build with my community through my services.
What advice would you give yourself if you could go back to your first year as an ECE?
My advice would be to be open to feedback!
