Stamping and sunsets…just a normal day!

Oh my goodness it is hot!!! i don't know why i forget how hot it gets at this time of the year…the humidity is making us feel like we are walking in a hot wet blanket at times. What is your weather like at the moment?

I try to get outside early most mornings with the toddler twosome now and then back out late afternoon for a run before bath time….no amount of sunscreen would stop them burning if we were out between 11-3 now!

I thought  i would try some stamping with them a few days ago……i used some home made stampers which are basically kitchen sponges (or old carpet underlay) cut into shapes and glued onto wooden blocks with a chunky handle….just right for little toddler grips.

We started off stamping on some cardboard (using edicol water colours on sponges)…..

So many textures to explore….wet paint, sponges, rough carboard, hard wood handles, bumpy ‘table'…

Then we were off to see what else we could stamp…..

The balance beam proved to be an interesting spot….this is just a little plank of wood balanced on a bush rock peeking out of the ground to give it slight elevation. The twosome are both getting better at climbing on and balancing but it also makes a great little base to get down low with activities.
It took Ruby a little while to get into the stamping…she isn't as tactile as her sister but did enjoy exploring it when she thought no one was around!
I also made some chicken nuggets for the girls yesterday….just cut some chicken breasts into cubes, dipped into natural yoghurt (keeps them moister i find) and then into crushed cornflakes as i was trying to make them really crunchy as Ruby seems more willing to try very crunchy foods. Was rewarded with her taking a few bites….i was happy she at least picked it up! Her oral aversion seems to be getting better and she is becoming more adventurous….i will keep trying!

Will leave you with a few shots of a sunset i snapped quickly after i put the toddler twosome to bed and headed outside to the vegie patch to get some quick weeding in!

Was nice to just stop for a moment and watch the sun sink quickly after a busy day…reminded me how lucky we are to live where we do and enjoy the opportunities presented each day…..
